Blackhorse Pub & Brewery
Classic Beers Crafted in a Historic Setting
Blackhorse started brewing beer from our Clarksville Pub in 1995. In 2014, more people than ever fell in love with our handcrafted beers, thanks to our first distribution partnership with Eagle Distributing.
It didn’t take long to realize two things: people appreciated the care we took in making our beers, and we were going to need a bigger brewery dedicated to production and distribution.
We didn’t want to compromise when it came to finding a home base for our brewing, so we found a truly local spot, built in the 1940s from bricks locally made and sourced in Alcoa, TN, and nestled between Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Inspired by the beautiful mountain vistas and the inviting, small-town feel, we were ready to bring this forgotten gem back to life.
We started work in 2018, and we hit the ground running. By December of that year, we moved our Knoxville brewery to Alcoa and tripled its capacity. In January of 2019, we made our first beers in our Alcoa brewery and distribution center.
We’re working with the City of Alcoa to add our Alcoa brewery to the National Register of Historic Places. We’ve found a home-away-from-home in Alcoa’s hospitable community. Blackhorse Brewery is honored to protect the beauty of our Alcoa facility, and to be a part of its history.
